The South of England Agricultural Society is a registered charity founded in 1967 from a consolidation of agricultural societies that date back to the 1830s. The Society operates from the 150-acre South of England Showground situated just outside Ardingly village in the heart of the West Sussex countryside.
Working across the seven counties of East and West Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, Berkshire and the Isle of Wight, the Society’s aims are to showcase farming, agriculture and the countryside through annual shows and serve the community through the provision of education, grants, awards, bursaries and scholarships for people with an interest or involvement in farming, agriculture and other related land based industries.
The South of England Event Centre is a major asset of the Society and is available for hire as a venue for large and small private and public events including conferences, exhibitions, shows, corporate events, training, product launches and special occasions. All profits from hire of the venue are donated to the Society to help fund the Society’s ongoing charitable projects.
